Exadata Hardware

Exadata’s performance and scalability stem from a tightly integrated hardware architecture in which compute, storage, and RDMA-enabled networking are engineered to operate as a single system. Database servers execute SQL processing and run Oracle Database workloads, intelligent storage servers offload data-intensive operations and accelerate I/O using flash and persistent memory, and a high-speed RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE) fabric provides ultra-low-latency connectivity, enabling direct memory access between servers for faster data movement.

Together, these components form a scale-out architecture that delivers high throughput, low latency, and efficient workload processing across AI, transactional, analytical, and mixed database environments.

Powerful Database Servers

Exadata uses powerful database servers that are ideal for everything from small departmental databases and the consolidation of multiple converged databases to high-end OLTP and memory-intensive workloads.


Scalable Storage Servers

Exadata provides a storage layer that actively participates in database request processing, not only by storing and serving data, but also by scaling out and parallelizing Oracle Database operations.


RDMA over Converged Ethernet

Exadata uses an industry-standard RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE) fabric, together with Oracle Database optimizations, to provide the low-latency, high-bandwidth communication required for high-performance database processing.
