The use of Oracle APEX on mobile devices to digitally record and share events as soon as they were encountered has enabled us to make the most profound change in data management to our recording practice in three decades.
David BowsherDirector of Research, MOLA

The Museum of London Archaeology (MOLA) is an educational charity and leading heritage practice MOLA carries out large-scale archaeological excavations on infrastructure projects, such as roads, high-speed railways, and power and gas lines. To capture the large quantities of digital archaeological data, the Oracle Forms technology MOLA had used for decades became cumbersome in recording, storing, and searching for data. MOLA developed a low-code, mobile application with Oracle APEX, which fed data directly to and from an Oracle 19C Database on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This allowed MOLA to address security and backup concerns, rigorously apply sequencing, and help ensure referential integrity. Combined with the ease of use and high performance of the APEX application, user adoption multiplied exponentially and was easily supported by cost-efficient block storage.
