| General Notes: |
Install using the software 1 and 2 CD's. Machine will not see the network, nor detect a mouse, so do the Interactive Installation in text mode (press F4_bypass on the kdmconfig screen). After installatin done, log into the console, and edit the /etc/driver_aliases file.
Add the following line to it:
iprb "pci8086,1031"
then do touch /reconfigure , then do sys-unconfig , answer yes, then the machine will reboot and prompt you for the full identification again. You will notice that the Network is now available.
I then downloaded and installed:
http://www.tools.de/solaris/xf86/xf86-4.3.0.1-video.pkg.bz2
and then ran a kdmconfig
I selected from the list at the bottom, the XF86.... RADEON driver, and the USB mouse.
CDE and GNOME work perfect in 1024x768x65k . |
