How to get graphis configured In Solaris 9.
1. Install X86free 4.3.0.1 or later binaries.
you can download this from : www.tools.de/solaris/xf86/
******NOTE**********
This is a custom install of X86free written and complied for solaris.
If you download the source code from www.xfree86.org you will have a great deal of trouble
compiling the code. The Solaris version of X86free intergrates with XSun, hence you need the
custom version of X86Free.
2. Create the flowing file and directory:
/etc/X11/XF86Config.
3. Enter the following information in the /etc/X11/XF86Config file:
Section "Device"
Driver "siliconmotion"
Option "NoUseBIOS" "True"
EndSection
*****NOTE*****
the above sections of Driver and Option are "TAB" seperated and simple spaces*******

4. enter command "kdmconfig"
select "Generic UK Keyboard"
selct edit Video
select XF86 Siliconmotion"
selcet Notebook LCD XVGA driver
select 13-inch screen
Select test and save
5. reboot laptop |
