Configuration for Solaris 10 01/06 or later:
(a) Execute: 'eeprom pci-ide=pci1095,680'
(b) Execute: 'touch /reconfigure'
(c) Reboot
Configuration for Solaris 10 03/05:
The standard driver supplied with Solaris 10 03/05 GA detects this controller automatically once a) the following is added to /boot/solaris/devicedb/master:
pci1095,680 pci-ide msd pci ata.bef "Silicon Image 680 PATA Controller"
and b) touch /reconfigure and reboot, then hit Escape in Configuration Assistant to detect and register the new hardware.
Additional Notes:
Multiple cards seem to work fine (I tested with two cards in the same machine).
Volume Manager (DiskSuite) in Solaris 10 works just fine with this controller (tested using RAID1 and soft partitions). |
