Each year, valued members of the UK armed forces step back into civilian life, with unique skills and experiences that can benefit society and accelerate their careers. Recognising both the challenges and opportunities of this journey, weServed established a platform and community dedicated to supporting UK veterans and their families. Through services covering employment, healthcare, finance, and more, weServed empowers veterans to thrive in their post-military lives.
Today, we are excited to share our collaboration with AiCore and Oracle to create a learning academy dedicated to honouring the experiences of veterans of the armed forces while empowering them with the digital skills needed to succeed in today’s fast-paced technology landscape.
The learning academy is designed to help veterans, beginning with a focus on women who have served, build rewarding careers in industries seeking skilled professionals. The initiative uses Oracle’s industry-leading solutions and AI capabilities across the technology and defence sectors, as well as expertise from AiCore, a specialist in AI and data training. This initiative is an ambitious step toward bridging the digital talent gap in the defence and technology, while supporting the UK government’s objectives to drive greater innovation in science and technology.
By leveraging the comprehensive resources of Oracle University and AiCore’s advanced training programmes, the academy offers a unique opportunity for an initial 900 women who have served in the armed forces and live in the UK, to reskill and build on their existing expertise. Through AiCore’s tailored 'Recruit, Train and Deploy' model, veterans will gain in-demand digital skills to help prepare them for the Oracle ecosystem.
Through targeted courses and hands-on training to learn and use Oracle’s products and services, participants will gain valuable expertise in cutting-edge technologies, such as cloud, AI, data analytics, and more.
Veterans bring leadership, problem-solving, teamwork, and a mission-driven focus. These qualities, combined with hands-on technological training, will be instrumental in driving innovation and success. The integration of veterans into digital roles not only supports their personal career development but also strengthens the capabilities of the UK workforce.
As Oracle continues to transform industries worldwide with cutting-edge cloud and AI solutions, veterans will play a key role in shaping the future of technology. By combining AiCore’s talent development model with the strength of the weServed veteran community, the learning academy can help address the growing digital skills gap, now and in the future.
