Oracle Fusion Applications are a suite of web-based enterprise software business products. Oracle Fusion Talent Review and Succession Management enables executives and HR professionals to assess talent, evaluate macro-organizational trends, identify and mitigate talent risk, develop a leadership pipeline, and review individual talent details such as potential and risk of loss.  Additionally, you can create succession plans and talent pools and view them from within the context of the talent review meeting.

The response to many of the technical standards are based on functionality provided by underlying technologies; please see the Oracle Fusion Applications Common Components VPAT listed in the Product Dependencies section for more information.

Section 1194.21 Software Applications and Operating Systems

  • Visual cue or feedback to the position of the cursor within the product
  • Current focus location is programmatically exposed.

Exceptions: Non-visual user tools become ineffective due to several buttons being coded as links as identifed in bugs 16992266 and 17081985.
1194.21(d) Sufficient information about a user interface element including the identity, operation and state of the element shall be available to assistive technology. When an image represents a program element, the information conveyed by the image must also be available in text. Product has been developed to conform to this standard subject to the remarks on the right.

The product was tested for:

  • Controls have a programmatically associated name, derived from the appropriate HTML elements and attributes including LABEL, TITLE, SUMMARY, CAPTION, etc.
  • Additional state information is programmatically exposed, such as whether a field is required.
  • Images that convey information have alternative text supplied.

 
1194.21(e) When bitmap images are used to identify controls, status indicators, or other programmatic elements, the meaning assigned to those images shall be consistent throughout an application's performance. Product has been developed to conform to this standard subject to the remarks on the right.

The product was tested for:

  • Images that convey information have alternative text using ALT and if necessary, LONGDESC
  • Images that are considered decorative are marked to be ignored by assistive technology, either by using ALT="" or CSS background images

Exception: A few ALT text values are missing as identified in bug 16992589.
1194.21(f) Textual information shall be provided through operating system functions for displaying text. The minimum information that shall be made available is text content, text input caret location, and text attributes. Product has been developed to conform to this standard subject to the remarks on the right.

The product was tested for:

  • Text is supplied through HTML or injected into the browser DOM (Document Object Model); the browser is responsible for exposing all such content in a way that is usable by assistive technology on the platform.
1194.21(g) Applications shall not override user selected contrast and color selections and other individual display attributes. Product has been developed to conform to this standard subject to the remarks on the right. The product was tested for:
  • Windows or other OS-level color settings not overruled by the product
1194.21(h) When animation is displayed, the information shall be displayable in at least one non-animated presentation mode at the option of the user. Product has been developed to conform to this standard subject to the remarks on the right.

  • Status indicator - The status indicator supports alternate text to indicate the state as busy or idle.
  • Loading indicator - The loading indicator is a decorative animation image that also has text explaining that the application is loading.

Section 1194.22 Web-based Internet Information and Applications

Exceptions: Tables with QBE invoked create 2 column headers as identified in bugs 17081384 and 16992324.  Row numbering on several tables in the product are confusing to non-visual users as identified in bug 16992308.

 
1194.22(h) Markup shall be used to associate data cells and header cells for data tables that have two or more logical levels of row or column headers. Product has been developed to conform to this standard subject to the remarks on the right. The product was tested for:
  • Complex data tables with multiple levels of table headings or other organization of data, use the ID, HEADERS, and AXIS attributes.
1194.22(i) Frames shall be titled with text that facilitates frame identification and navigation. Product has been developed to conform to this standard subject to the remarks on the right. The product was tested for:
  • Frames titled with text. iFrames used simply to communicate with the server is an exception.
1194.22(j) Pages shall be designed to avoid causing the screen to flicker with a frequency greater than 2 Hz and lower than 55 Hz. Not Applicable

1194.22(k) A text-only page, with equivalent information or functionality, shall be provided to make a web site comply with the provisions of this part, when compliance cannot be accomplished in any other way. The product was tested for:

  • An equivalent text only page is not needed since information and functionality is available within the product, to the extent indicated in each applicable standard.

Exceptions:

1) Non-visual users are unable to view candidates' talent details dialog from the succession overview page (bug 16888103).  This issue impacts non-visual users as they are unable to hyperlink to the talent detail dialog for each candidate in a succession plan directly on the succession overview page.  There is a workaround using the existing UI.  The non-visual user must have security priviledges to succession plans, be a manager in the heirarchy of the candidate on a public succession plan or be assigned as a candidate manager owner on a private succession plan.  Once security is in place, non-visual users can access the candidate's talent details dialog by following these instructions - from the succession overview page, edit the succession plan, select the next button on the details page - this navigates to the succession plan's candidate page which provides all the candidate names for the succession plan selected.  Selecting the candidate name from the candidate page launches the talent details dialog for the candidate.

2) Talent Review PRINTABLE PAGE, in screen reader mode, content is not rendered adequately (bug 16987375).  This issue potentially impacts non-visual users facilitating a talent review meeting.  The term potentially is used as not all talent review meetings will include the request for a Printable Page. In the event that someone in the meeting does request a Printable Page for reference at a future time, the page that is rendered is within a table that has scroll bars that do not adequately display the data. Currently there is no known workaround for a non-visual user.  
1194.22(l) When pages utilize scripting languages to display content, or to create interface elements, the information provided by the script shall be identified with functional text that can be read by assistive technology. Product has been developed to conform to this standard subject to the remarks on the right. The product was tested for:
  • Content generated by JavaScript has been coded to meet other applicable standards, to the extent indicated.
1194.22(m) When a web page requires that an applet, plug-in or other application be present on the client system to interpret page content, the page must provide a link to a plug-in or applet that complies with §1194.21(a) through (l). Product has been developed to conform to this standard subject to the remarks on the right.

The product was tested for:

  • Some components use Flash. The user will be prompted to install the Flash player when the client platform supports it, a component is configured to render with Flash, and the Flash player is not detected.
  • Content rendered by required plug-ins or applications has been coded to meet other applicable standards, to the extent indicated in the dependent VPATs.
1194.22(n) When electronic forms are designed to be completed on-line, the form shall allow people using assistive technology to access the information, field elements, and functionality required for completion and submission of the form, including all directions and cues.
