Essbase Cube Designer is a MS Excel Smart View plug-in which is an alternate UI for building Cubes.

Deploys Essbase cubes from formatted application workbooks. Cube Designer is an add-in to Smart View that enables desktop design of Essbase cubes. It can also be used to deploy cubes from tabular data in an Excel worksheet. 

In addition, Cube Designer supports analysis, optimization of cubes, and basic application and cube management such as add, delete, export, unlock objects, and run calc scripts.
