Alcar Ruote speeds planning and carbon reporting with Oracle
Wheel maker unifies planning, finance, and emissions data to shorten planning cycles, automate invoice capture, and produce carbon reports overnight.

“Oracle Fusion Applications put every order, invoice, and emission factor in one place; our planners approve purchases in minutes, finance closes faster, and I deliver certified carbon numbers in real time, after the closure of the period—no more spreadsheets or supplier chases—so we spend the saved hours designing lighter wheels and serving customers sooner across our European and North American markets.”
About Alcar Ruote
Alcar Ruote is a wheel manufacturer that supplies steel rims to drivers across Europe and North America.
The challenge: Manual planning and carbon reporting across siloed systems
Separate on-premises systems for production planning, purchasing, logistics, and finance slowed planning and delayed decisions. Buyers waited for batch exports before placing component orders. Sustainability teams used emails and spreadsheets to calculate emissions and prepare EU-mandated carbon reports. The disconnect inflated inventory buffers, slowed response times, and increased compliance risk.
The solution and results: Connected planning, execution, and emissions accounting in the cloud
Alcar Ruote moved core processes to Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain and Manufacturing, Oracle Fusion Cloud Finance and Accounting, and Oracle Fusion Cloud Sustainability. The move unified planning, finance, and emissions data in the cloud.
Embedded algorithms highlighted part shortages and proposed purchase orders to support faster planning and procurement. Alcar Ruote's Oracle based AI system integrates their supplier’s data to support faster planning and procurement. Order-to-cash flows helped route customer requests through fulfillment and invoicing without rekeying data, while exception rules flagged orders at risk and suggested alternate suppliers.
For emissions accounting, Oracle Fusion Cloud Sustainability read supplier invoices captured in Oracle Fusion Cloud Financial Management. The AI based system extracted line-item details, classified spend and applied the best available emission factor (product-based first, spend-based if needed). Results posted to a sustainability ledger that mirrored financial postings to support an auditable trail.
Alcar is now able to deliver updates on the supplies within minutes; the current planning cycle is more robust by comparison to how it was when they went live in 2018. Automation captured 95% of key supplier invoices with no manual intervention. With real-time access to emissions data, the company reduced monthly carbon-footprint reporting from three weeks to overnight. The high-performance Oracle based shipping system handles everything—picking, loading, and real time documentation of issues —to get products moving faster to customers.
